Kit (Email List)
Add contacts to your Kit email list from a workflow, with an optional tag and sequence.
Connect Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to grow your email list from conversations. The workflow step Add to email list adds the contact with the email saved on them, and can add a tag and start a sequence.
Important: Kit is an integration, so it needs a Raqi plan from Starter. On the Kit side, you need a Kit plan that includes API access.
Connect Kit
Setup takes about two minutes:
Warning: Use a v4 API key from the Developer tab. A v3 API key or the API secret does not work here.
- 1. In Kit, open Settings, then the Developer tab.
- 2. Click Add a new key, give it a name such as "Raqi" and copy the v4 API key. Kit shows it only once.
- 3. In Raqi, open Integrations & API and click Connect on Kit.
- 4. Paste the key and click Test connection. Raqi checks it with Kit and shows the account name. Then click Connect.
The Add to Email List Step
Add the step after the contact has given their email, for example after a Collect info step:
- Tag (optional) and Sequence (optional): pick them from your Kit account. Create them in Kit first, then click Refresh in the step.
- A new subscriber also gets their first name.
- Added runs once Kit has them on your list, even if the tag or sequence could not be added. Not added runs otherwise, and the run's details say why.
Who Gets Added
By default, the step adds only people who typed their email in a conversation:
- Only people who gave their email in a chat (on by default): Raqi adds someone only after they type their email address in a conversation. A phone number does not count, and neither does an email that was imported or added by hand. Tell people in your question that they are joining your list.
- Turn it off to add everyone who reaches the step with an email saved. You then confirm I have permission to email everyone who reaches this step.
- People who opted out of your messages, or unsubscribed from your Kit list, are never added.
Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions:
- Kit didn't accept the key: the key was deleted in Kit, it is not a v4 key, or your Kit plan no longer includes API access. Reconnect Kit in Integrations.
- A tag or sequence is missing: it was deleted in Kit. Choose another one in the step.
- Rate limited: Kit allows about 120 requests a minute for one API key, and each person added uses up to 4. When the limit is reached, the contact is not added and the run says why.
