Knowledge Sources

Give your AI agent context with files, web pages, text and connected tools.

Knowledge sources give your agent the facts it needs to answer correctly. Add them in the builder's Knowledge base step or on the agent page. Without sources, the agent answers only from its personality and goals.

    Types of Knowledge Sources

Click Add knowledge source and pick a type:

Important: Each agent can have up to 20 knowledge sources. Raqi also keeps a Recent posts source by itself, with the captions of the latest 30 posts on the agent's channels, updated every day. It does not use one of the 20.

    • File upload: PDF, TXT, DOCX or CSV, up to 10 MB each. Scanned, image-only PDFs are refused because they have no text.
    • Website URL: Raqi reads that page plus up to 9 more pages of the same site, then reads them again every week and updates the text when the site changes.
    • Manual text: paste FAQs, price lists, scripts or policies.
    • Integration: a connected Google Sheets, Google Docs or Google Calendar, with Read and/or Write permission. HubSpot, Slack and other connected tools are given to the agent here too.

    Prices That Change

A source cannot be edited in place: remove the old one and add the new version. For prices or stock that change often, keep them in a Google Sheet added as an Integration source with Read. The agent reads the sheet when it needs the data, so your edits apply right away.

    Best Practices

    Tips for effective knowledge sources:

Tip: A well-structured FAQ is the most useful source you can add. Cover your top 20 customer questions.

    • Keep content structured, with clear headings and short paragraphs
    • Include prices if you want the agent to share them
    • Use several focused sources instead of one huge document
    • Check answers in the Test chat after every change
