Telegram
Connect a Telegram bot to your workspace.
Telegram connects through a bot. All you need is the bot's token from BotFather, and Telegram is available from the Free plan.
Step 1: Get a Bot Token
Open Telegram and search for @BotFather. For a new bot, send /newbot and follow the prompts; BotFather replies with the token. For an existing bot, send /mybots, choose the bot, then API Token.
Step 2: Connect to Raqi
Open Channels, find the Telegram card and click Connect. Paste the token into Bot token and click Connect bot. Send a message to your bot; it appears in the Inbox.
Step 3: Customize Your Bot
Back in BotFather, use these commands to personalize your bot:
/setname: change the bot's display name/setdescription: set the text people see when they open the bot/setuserpic: upload a profile picture for the bot
Good to Know
A few things to keep in mind:
- Only new messages arrive after you connect. Earlier conversations cannot be imported.
- Raqi points the bot's webhook at Raqi, so a bot used by another service stops delivering there.
- Keep the token secret: anyone with it controls the bot. If it leaks, revoke it in BotFather (
/mybots> API Token > Revoke current token) and paste the new one.
